Recycling the collected waste also helps lower overall skip hire price, but inevitably there will always be
the need to dispose of unused material into landfill. The governement have seen the financial benefit of this
and now collect around 1 Billion pounds each year in duty paid from landfill tax. The rate of tax has increased
from £7 per tonne in 1999 to £40 per tonne 10 years later, with another £8 increase due next year in 2010.

This significant yearly increase in Landfill Tax is additional to any other increases, such as imposed
by landfill operators, higher costs of landfill licences, or any other increased running charges, etc.
HM Customs & Excise simply impose the amount as a way to collect additional revenue from waste disposal.

Hunsdon Skips are in the same position as all other Skip Hire companies in the United Kingdom.
Therefore, prices must increase to collect this additional added tax from consumers using our disposal services.
